RECREATION GROUND - FOOTPATH

Works will commence on 5th June to provide a footpath around part of the recreation ground. This will increase accessibility for those with mobility issues, walkers and those with pushchairs etc. Work will take approximately 2 weeks and your patience is requested.
The route of the path may seem a little strange. Funds were not available to take the footpath to the bottom of the field. Extensive drainage would have been required in addition to the cost of the path. In addition, the Leicestershire County Council Archaeological Department asked that the Parish Council retain as much as possible of the medieval ridge and furrow as possible, and this wish has been accommodated.
The next phase will be to install outdoor gym equipment and the Parish Council will shortly be seeking quotations for this work.
